ASPIRE+PLLUS

ASPIRE+PLLUS is a student support program that helps minimize barriers in marginalized communities within the AAPI community to promote academic and personal success among students. The acronym stands for Asian Pacific Islander Resources for Excellence plus Powerful Leadership and Learning for Unified Success.

Re-Design Webpage

The original design was very text-heavy and not eye-catching to our audience. Additionally, it targeted current students rather than prospective students who might want to learn more about this program at Evergreen Valley College.

I redesigned the page to cater to both current and prospective students, providing information on what ASPIRE+PLLUS is, how to become a member, the services we offer, current and upcoming events for our students, and a point of contact.

Re-Design Program Flyer

The original flyer was not modernized for the current generation and had little color contrast. While it provided enough information for students, it was not eye-catching enough to capture readers’ attention.

I redesigned the flyer to be double-sided. The front page includes brief bullet points outlining what the program offers, additional EVC images to catch the eye, and a call to action to scan a QR code to sign up. The back side details all the services the program offers with more descriptive information about each service.

Create Online Presence (Instagram)

Our program's Instagram page had very little interaction with the audience, and the content was mostly event announcements that did not grab attention.

Part of my work also involves managing our Social Media platforms, I began creating more engaging event infographics and crafting detailed, engaging descriptions. Additionally, I collaborated with our students and the EVC Marketing Team to post more student photos for better engagement.

In February 2024, we had 45 followers. As of May 23rd, 2024, we have reached 77 followers!
